Nick Calathes (ex Partizan) agreed terms with PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki
In 2009, he was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA) in the second round (45th overall). He attended the University of Florida, and it is his 18th season in pro basketball.
Calathes was also a member of the Greek international program for some years. He played for Greek Senior National Team between 2009 and 2024 and previously for the Under 20 National Team back in 2008.
Calathes also represented Greece at the FIBA Olympic Games in Paris (France) two years ago. During this event, he scored an average of 5.8 points per game and had 4 rebounds per game.
He is a very experienced player. Calathes has played professionally in France, Russia (Lokomotiv), Spain (FC Barcelona), Turkey (Fenerbahce), Greece (Panathinaikos), NBA (Memphis Grizzlies), and The Basketball Tournament (Team Hines).
Among many awards, he played in the final of the French League in 2025. He was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Europe Honorable Mention back in 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022. Calathes is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of the last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki.
