Newly promoted Esenler Erokspor Istanbul (BSL) strengthened their roster with the addition of 32-year-old USA ex-international 205cm power forward James Webb III (college: Boise State, agency: G.A.M.E) for the 2026-27 season. He joins another USA player, Errick McCollum, who is already on the roster. Webb III was the top rebounder at Unicaja in the Spanish Liga Endesa. In 32 games, he recorded 9.3ppg and 3.8rpg last season, helping them reach the Supercup semifinals. He also played 16 games in the Basketball Champions League, where he averaged 6.9ppg, 4.9rpg, and 1.1apg.
During the 2024-25 season, he split time between Flying Leopards (CBA) in the Chinese league and Pinar Karsiyaka.
Webb has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016. He was a member of the USA Senior National Team in 2020.
Webb is a very experienced player. Thanks to his pro career, he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Asia, and North America) in seven different countries. He has played professionally in China, Germany (Telekom Baskets), Greece (Larissa BC), Israel (Maccabi Tel Aviv), NBA (Brooklyn Nets), and NBA G League (Iowa Wolves and Delaware Blue Coats).
Among many awards, Webb's team won the FIBA International Cup in 2025. Webb was also voted the Eurobasket.com All-Turkish League Defensive Player of the Year in 2025.
He graduated from Boise State in 2016 and this will be his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball. Webb played also for North Idaho College for 2 years.
