Newly promoted Esenler Erokspor Istanbul (BSL) signed experienced 38-year-old American 188cm guard Errick McCollum (college: Goshen) for the upcoming season. He is a well-known player in Turkish BSL, having been the assist leader at Galatasaray (BSL). In 28 games last season, he averaged 14.8ppg, 3.1rpg, and 2.0apg. McCollum also played 12 games in the Basketball Champions League, where he put up impressive stats: 16.1ppg, 3.3rpg, 1.8apg, and 1.0spg, helping his team reach the quarterfinals. This successful season led to him being voted to the Eurobasket.com Basketball Champions League Second Team.
During the 2024-25 season, he split time between Fenerbahce and Pinar Karsiyaka, two Turkish teams.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2014.
McCollum is a very experienced player, having played professionally in five different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia, and North America). He has played for teams in China (Golden Bulls and Royal Fighters), Greece (Panionios and Apollon Patras), Israel (Elitzur BRIGA Netanya), Russia (UNICS Kazan, Khimki, and Lokomotiv), and The Basketball Tournament (Overseas Elite).
Among many awards, he won the Euroleague championship title in 2025. He received the Eurobasket.com All-Turkish League Player of the Year award and the Eurobasket.com All-Turkish League Import Player of the Year award in 2024. McCollum is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of the last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Erokspor.
He graduated from Goshen College in 2010 and this will be his 17th season in pro basketball.
