Insurea Kontich Wolves (Top Division I) strengthened their roster with the addition of experienced 34-year-old Lithuanian guard Augustas Peciukevicius (192cm-94kg-1991) for the 2026-27 season. He has played for the last three years at Kangoeroes Basket Mechelen in the Pro Basketball League. In two games, he recorded 13.0ppg, 1.0rpg, and 6.0apg last season. Top Division I will be definitely a better match, and he can see more playing time. He also played 23 games in the BNXT League, where he averaged 6.1ppg, 2.0rpg, and 1.7apg.
Peciukevicius is a highly experienced player who has played in Estonia (Tartu and Parnu), Spain (Ourense, Burgos, and Coruna), and Lithuania (Zalgiris, Atletas, Rytas, Sakalai, and Dailes Akademija).
Peciukevicius won the BNXT League championship title in 2025.
The scouts describe him as a versatile player who can excel in multiple positions on the field. He has a strong work ethic and shows great leadership qualities both on and off the field. His speed and agility make him a threat to opposing teams, while his tactical awareness allows him to make smart decisions during crucial moments in the game. Overall, he is a well-rounded player who can make a significant impact on the team.
A very reliable fast point guard with excellent ball-handling and full-court perception, plays pick-n-roll very well, drives to the basket, is always focused on creating opportunities for his teammates, and is amongst the leading players in assists in the league. A persistent defender, uses both feet and hands to defend well or steal the ball from the offending guard, has a good tendency for steals. Needs to improve confidence in shooting.
