Newly promoted Mykonos Betsson BC (GBL) strengthened their roster with the addition of 23-year-old Cypriot-Greek international 184cm point guard Filippos Tigkas for the 2026-27 season. Tigkas has played for the last five years at Keravnos in the Cypriot ECOMMBX BL. In 24 games, he recorded 10.9ppg, 2.5rpg, and 3.6apg last season. He helped them to make it to both the league and Supercup final after they ended the regular season as the second-best team. It was a very spectacular year in his career as he was voted to the Cypriot League All-Star Game and All-Domestic Players Team. Tigkas also played 4 games in the FIBA Europe Cup, where he averaged 10.0ppg, 1.0rpg, 1.5apg, and 1.3spg.
He has also been a member of the Cypriot international program for some years. Tigkas has regularly played for the Cypriot senior team since 2020 and previously for the Under 16 National Team back in 2018.
He also represented Cyprus at the Games of the Small States of Europe in Malta three years ago. Tigkas' team won Bronze and he averaged almost 5 points per game.
Tigkas has played previously in Greece, specifically with the AEK Athens U18 team.
Among many awards, his team won the Cypriot League Regular Season in 2023. He was also selected as the Eurobasket.com All-Cypriot League Domestic Player of the Year in 2024.
