Defending champion Boca Juniors Buenos Aires (La Liga) agreed terms with 30-year old Argentinian international point guard Jose Vildoza (191cm-1996) for the new 2026-27 season. It is actually his comeback to Buenos Aires as he has played here before. He was the top scorer at Basquet Girona in the Spanish Liga Endesa. In 32 games, he had 5.6ppg, 2.0rpg, and 2.1apg. For the two previous seasons (2023-25), he played at Boca Juniors Buenos Aires. He also played 51 games in the Argentinian La Liga where he recorded 14.6ppg, 4.9rpg, and 3.7apg in the 2024-25 year. Vildoza helped them to win the league title (twice) and the Supercup. A very impressive season as he was voted Latinbasket.com All-Argentinian League Domestic Player of the Year, Finals MVP, and Guard of the Year. He has also been a member of the Argentinian international program for some years. Vildoza has regularly played for the Argentinian senior team since 2016 and previously for the Under 19 National Team in 2015. He also represented Argentina at the FIBA World Cup 2023 Americas Qualifiers three years ago. During this event, he scored an average of 5.6 points per game and had 2.3 rebounds per game. Vildoza is a highly experienced player, having played for teams in Brazil (Flamengo), Croatia (Cibona), Spain, Venezuela (Trotamundos), and Argentina (Libertad and San Lorenzo). Among many awards, he was also selected as the Latinbasket.com All-Argentinian League Player of the Year in 2021.
