Rio Breogan Lugo (Liga Endesa) strengthened their roster with the addition of 29-year-old Montenegrin international 204cm power forward Aleksa Ilic for the upcoming season. He played most recently at Derby in the Montenegrin Erste Liga. He managed to play in three leagues last year. In 26 ABA League games, he recorded very impressive stats: 15.2ppg, 8.0rpg, 1.0spg, and 1.7bpg. Ilic also played 4 games in the Erste Liga, where he averaged 14.3ppg, 6.3rpg, 1.5apg, 1.0spg, and 1.5bpg. Finally, he recorded 1 game in the Basketball Champions League, where he had 6 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 blocks. His team made it to the Montenegrin Final Four in 2026.
During the three previous seasons (2022-25), he played for KK Buducnost VOLI Podgorica in Montenegro. Similarly, like in the last season, the team competed in three different competitions that year, exposing him to basketball at various levels.
He has also been a member of the Montenegrin international program for some years. Ilic has regularly played for the Montenegrin senior team since 2017 and previously for the Under 20 National Team in 2016.
He also represented Montenegro at the FIBA Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament in Riga (Latvia) two years ago. During this event, he scored an average of 1 point per game and had 3 rebounds per game.
Ilic has played previously in Italy as well. His team reached the Montenegrin Final Four in 2026.
