Nicolescu, who has played for the last eleven years at CSM CSU Oradea in the Liga Nationala, managed to play in three leagues last year. The team participated in four different competitions that year, exposing him to basketball on different levels. In 38 Liga Nationala games, he averaged 7.5ppg and 3.1rpg, helping them win the regular season and make it to the final. They also reached the Cup final. Additionally, he played 12 games in FIBA Europe Cup, averaging 6.5ppg and 2.3rpg. In one game in Basketball Champions League, he did not score but recorded 2 rebounds and 1 assist. Nicolescu has also been a member of the Romanian international program for some years. He has regularly played for the Romanian senior team since 2017 and previously for the Under 20 National Team back in 2017. Nicolescu also represented Romania at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 European Pre-Qualifiers last year.
