Longevida San Pablo Burgos (Liga Endesa) has agreed terms with 25-year-old Slovenian international guard Ziga Samar (197cm-83kg-2001) for the new 2026-27 season. He played last season at Gran Canaria (Liga Endesa), where he averaged 4.5ppg, 1.6rpg, and 1.6apg in 34 games. Samar also played 12 games in the Basketball Champions League, recording 5.7ppg, 3.1rpg, and 3.0apg. Prior to that, he spent two seasons (2023-25) at ALBA Berlin (BBL) in the German league, playing in three different competitions. In the 2024-25 season, he played 6 games in the German BBL, averaging 4.2ppg, 2.3rpg, and 3.3apg.
He has also been a member of the Slovenian international program for some years. Samar has regularly played for the Slovenian senior team since 2022 and previously for the Under 18 National Team in 2019.
He also represented Slovenia at the FIBA World Cup in Philippines-Japan-Indonesia three years ago. Samar's team won Bronze and he averaged over 1 point per game.
Samar is a highly experienced player who has played for teams in Germany, Slovenia, Spain, and Germany. He has played for Hamburg Towers, Petrol Olimpija Ljubljana, Jesenice, Fuenlabrada, Flexicar Fuenlabrada Madrid 2nd team, Zamora, Real Madrid 2nd team, and Real Madrid.
In 2025, his team reached the Spanish Cup Final Four.
