Ranko Simovic is the First Reinforcement of Borac MozzartBorac Mozzart has secured its first signing for the upcoming competitive year. Head coach Saša Ocokoljic's team has been strengthened with the addition of Ranko Simovic (199-SF-1999), who signed a one-year contract with the red-and-white side, with an option to extend it.
In this way, the team from the city on the Morava River has begun assembling its squad in time for the upcoming season, which will be its seventh in the ABA League.
As for the new signing, Simovic is a player who took his first basketball steps with KK Mladost Cacak. He stayed in the youth development system there until 2016, when he moved to Crvena zvezda. The following year, after turning 18, he signed a four-year contract with the Belgrade club, but was soon loaned to KK Vršac, where he spent the 2018/2019 season. He then played for FMP SoccerBet for one year, followed by a stint with KK Sloboda Užice during the 2019/2020 season. From 2020 onward, he spent several years representing the club from Železnik. Last season, he played for KK Vojvodina.
Ranko Simovic can also boast experience with Serbia's youth national teams, having represented the country at both the U18 and U20 levels.
It is also worth mentioning that Borac Mozzart is actively negotiating with players who formed the backbone of the team last season and carried the burden of a very difficult and demanding campaign. In addition, the club is in talks with several players who are of interest to coach Ocokoljic and his staff.
For reference, the players currently under contract are team captain Uroš Carapic, Ðorde Curcic, Petar Radovic, Mihailo Mušikic, and Josh Pierre-Louis.
