Aliaga Petkimspor Izmir (BSL) inked 30-year old American 190cm swingman Khyri Thomas (college: Creighton) for upcoming season. It is actually his comeback to Petkimspor as he has played here before. He played most recently at SYNTAINICS MBC Weissenfels in German BBL league. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 27 BBL games he averaged 15.0ppg, 4.1rpg, 3.6apg and 1.6spg last season. Good year as he was voted League Player of the Week. He also played 8 games in European North Basketball League where he recorded very impressive stats: 17.0ppg, 3.1rpg, 2.5apg and 2.4spg (in top 4). Thomas helped them to make it to the semifinals. A very good season in his career as he was selected to Eurobasket.com European North Basketball League Third Team.
The previous (2025) summer he played at Surge (lgary Surge (Canada-CEBL): 24 games: 8.8ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.9apg, Steals-3(1.8spg), FGP: 43.9%, 3PT: 33.7%, FT: 77.8%) in Canadian lgary Surge (Canada-CEBL): 24 games: 8.8ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.9apg, Steals-3(1.8spg), FGP: 43.9%, 3PT: 33.7%, FT: 77.8%.
In 2018 he was drafted by Philadelphia 76ers (NBA) in second round (38th overall). The former Creighton University star is in his ninth season in pro basketball.
He is a very experienced player. Thomas has played also professionally in Canada, Israel (Maccabi Tel Aviv), Spain (Burgos and Surne Bilbao), NBA (Atlanta Hawks and Detroit Pistons), Turkey (Tofas), NBA G League (Austin Spurs and Grand Rapids Gold) and NBA Summer League (Detroit Pistons and Houston Rockets).
Among many awards he played in the final of CEBL in 2025. He was also voted to All-Big East Defensive Player of the Year back in 2018 at his college time.
