Defending champion B.C. Zalgiris Kaunas (LKL) confirmed in their roster 24-year old international power forward Azuolas Tubelis (211cm-111kg-2002, college: Arizona) for the new 2026-27 season. He played there last season. In 26 LKL games, he had 12.0ppg, 4.3rpg, and 1.0apg. He helped them win the cup and was named League Player of the Week. Tubelis also played 42 games in Euroleague, where he recorded 12.1ppg and 4.5rpg, contributing to his team making it to the quarterfinals. He was also named League Player of the Week during the previous (2024-25) season when he played at another Lithuanian team BC Rytas Vilnius.
Tubelis has also been a member of the Lithuanian international program for some years. He has regularly played for the Lithuanian senior team since 2024 and previously for the Under 19 National Team in 2021.
Tubelis also represented Lithuania at the FIBA Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament in San Juan (Puerto Rico) two years ago. During this event, he scored an average of 4 points per game and had 1.3 rebounds per game.
He has also played professionally in the USA and the NBA (Philadelphia 76ers).
Among many awards, he won the Lithuanian U18 League championship title in 2019. Tubelis was voted to the Eurobasket.com All-Lithuanian League All-Domestic Players Team in 2025.
He graduated from the University of Arizona in 2023, and this will be his fourth season as a professional player.
