Cayirova signs Rasheed Sulaimon

Newcomer of Turkish Basketball Super League, Cayirova Belediye Kocaeli (BSL) signed 32-year old USA-Nigerian shooting guard Rasheed Sulaimon (194cm-86kg-1994, college: Maryland) for the upcoming 2026-27 season. Sulaimon has played for the last two years at Buducnost in the Montenegrin Erste Liga. He played in three leagues last year, showcasing his skills at different levels. In 19 Eurocup games, he averaged 12.8ppg, 2.4rpg, 3.2apg, and 1.2spg. Sulaimon also played 30 games in the ABA League, where he posted 11.4ppg, 2.8rpg, and 2.5apg. Additionally, he played 1 game in the Erste Liga, averaging 6 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1 steal.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
Sulaimon is a highly experienced player, having played professionally in France (JDA Dijon, Metropolitans, and JL Bourg), Lithuania (Wolves), Spain (Zaragoza), Turkey (Konyaspor), NBA G League (Greensboro Swarm), and The Basketball Tournament (Program for Autism). His team won the Montenegrin Cup in 2026.
Among many awards, he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Montenegrin League Import Player of the Year in 2025.
Sulaimon graduated from the University of Maryland in 2016 and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season as a professional player. He also played for Duke University for 3 years.
