The University of Virginia selected 21-year old Slovenian 6-6 guard Jan Vide for the new season. Domzale native played for the last two years at Loyola Marymount University. In 27 games last season, he averaged 12.1ppg, 3.0rpg, and 4.0apg. He was voted to WCC All-Academic Team in 2026. He was also selected to Eurobasket.com All-FIBA U20 EuroBasket Second Team in 2025.
Vide played at Real Madrid U18 team between 2021-23, Real Madrid U19 team during 2021-23, Real Madrid 2nd team during 2021-23, and then at University of California at Los Angeles during 2023-24. His team won Adidas Next Generation Tournament in Munich and Spanish EBA Group B-A Regular Season Championship in 2023. He helped his team make it to the Adidas Next Generation Tournament Finals in Kaunas Winner, Adidas Next Generation Tournament Finals in Kaunas All-Tournament MVP, and Adidas Next Generation Tournament Finals in Kaunas All-Tournament Team that year. Vide received Eurobasket.com All-Spanish EBA Player of the Year, Eurobasket.com All-Spanish EBA Guard of the Year, and Eurobasket.com All-Spanish EBA Import Player of the Year award that year. He was also voted to Adidas Next Generation Tournament in Munich All-Tournament Team and Eurobasket.com All-Spanish EBA First Team that season. His team won Adidas Next Generation Tournament in Ljubljana and Spanish EBA Group B Regular Season Championship in 2022.
Vide was a member of the Slovenian Under 20 National Team last year. He helped his team make it to the Adidas Next Generation Tournament Finals in Valencia Winner in 2021. Vide was also selected to Eurobasket.com All-FIBA U17 World Cup Second Team in 2022.
