Trabzonspor tabs Troy Caupain, ex Reggio Emilia

Troy Caupain

Trabzonspor Medical Park Basketbol (BSL) signed 30-year-old American 193cm point guard Troy Caupain (college: Cincinnati, agency: LHZ Sport Agency) for the upcoming season. He was the top scorer at Unahotels Reggio Emilia in Italian Serie A. Caupain played in three leagues last year. In 32 Serie A games, he averaged 15.0ppg, 3.9rpg, 5.4apg, and 1.1spg. He also played 14 games in FIBA Europe Cup, averaging 13.4ppg, 4.0rpg, and 5.4apg, helping the team reach the quarterfinals. Additionally, he recorded 2 games in Basketball Champions League with averages of 13.5ppg, 5.0rpg, 4.0apg, and 1.5spg.
During the 2024-25 season, he split time between SIG Strasbourg in the French league and UCAM in the Spanish league.
Caupain is a very experienced player. He has played professionally in Belgium (Oostende), France, Germany (ratiopharm Ulm), Israel (Hapoel Holon), Spain, NBA (Portland Trail Blazers and Orlando Magic), Turkey (Darussafaka Lassa), NBA G League (Osceola Magic), NBA Summer League (Washington Wizards) and The Basketball Tournament (Nasty Nati).
Among many awards, he played in the final of the Spanish League in 2024. Caupain was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Turkish League Honorable Mention back in 2022.
He graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2017, and this will be his tenth season in pro basketball.
