PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki (GBL) has agreed terms with 29-year old Canadian international center Kyle Alexander (208cm-98kg-1996, college: Tennessee) for the new 2026-27 season. He is the second foreign player in the roster, with USA RaiQuan Gray having signed earlier. Alexander played for the last two seasons at Turk Telekom in the Turkish BSL league. In 26 games, he averaged 9.8ppg, 6.0rpg, 1.1apg, and 1.1bpg last season, helping them reach the Turkish Cup Semifinals. He was named League Player of the Week twice and also played 21 games in Eurocup, where he recorded 9.9ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.0apg, and 1.0bpg, contributing to his team's semifinal appearance.
Three years ago, Alexander represented Canada at the FIBA World Cup in Philippines-Japan-Indonesia. During the tournament, his team won Bronze and he averaged over 3 points per game.
Alexander is a highly experienced player, having played professionally in Israel (Hapoel Tel Aviv), Spain (Valencia and Fuenlabrada), the NBA (Miami Alexanderat), the NBA Summer League (Washington Wizards, Phoenix Suns, and Portland Trail Blazers), and Canada (Shooting Stars).
Among many awards, he played in the final of the Israeli Premier League in 2024. He was voted to the Eurobasket.com All-Israeli League Honorable Mention in 2024.
Alexander graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2019, and this will be his eighth season as a professional player.
