Newly promoted Esenler Erokspor Istanbul (BSL) signed 33-year-old 192cm point guard Yunus Sonsirma for the upcoming season. Sonsirma, who is well-known in the Turkish BSL, last played for Petkim, where he averaged 5.0ppg, 2.6rpg, and 2.5apg in 26 games. He also played 12 games in the FIBA Europe Cup, contributing 3.0ppg, 2.2rpg, and 2.3apg, helping his team reach the quarterfinals. In the previous season (2024-25), he played for another Turkish team, Manisa. He has spent his entire career in Turkey playing for seven other teams: Pinar Karsiyaka, Darussafaka Lassa, Turk Telekom, Galatasaray, Eskisehir, Bahcesehir, and Galatasaray. Sonsirma was voted to Eurobasket.com Turkish TBL All-Domestic Players Team in 2017. He played in the final of Basketball Champions League in 2021.
