Azul Marino Sant Josep Palma de Mallorca (LF Challenge) has signed 26-year-old Mali international power forward Alima Dembele for the new season. She played for Joventut in the LF Endesa for the last three years. In 25 games, she was the league's third-best scorer with an impressive 17.0ppg and also recorded 7.5rpg and 1.3spg last season. Dembele can expect a better match in LF Challenge and more playing time. She had a very successful season and was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Spanish League Honorable Mention.
Dembele has been a member of the Mali international program for some years. She has regularly played for the Mali senior team since 2021 and previously for the Under 19 National Team in 2019.
Dembele also represented Mali at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 Qualifying Tournament in Wuhan (China) this year. During this event she scored an average of 10.2 points per game and had 4.6 rebounds per game.
She has played previously for five other teams: IDK Euskotren, Leganes, Adareva, Genero, and Barakaldo.
In addition to winning the Spanish LF Challenge Playoff championship title in 2024, Dembele was also selected as the Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LF2 Center of the Year in 2021.
