Besiktas JK Istanbul (KBSL) signed Marieme Badiane, a 31-year-old French international power forward standing at 190cm, for the upcoming season. Badiane last played for Beretta Famila Schio in the Italian Serie A1, where she averaged 7.0ppg and 5.1rpg in 21 games. She contributed to their League title and Supercup victory and was named League Player of the Week. Badiane also played 12 games in the Euroleague, averaging 4.1ppg, 2.8rpg, and 1.3apg. In the previous (2025) summer, she played for Lynx in the WNBA.
She has also been a member of the French international program for some years. Badiane has regularly played for the French senior team since 2018 and previously for the Under 20 National Team in 2014.
She also represented France at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 Qualifying Tournament in Lyon-Villeurbanne (France) this year. Her team won Gold and she averaged 8 points per game.
Badiane has played also in France between Mondeville, Basket Lattes Montpellier Agglomeration, Champagne and Centre Federal BB Paris, and Turkey during Fenerbahce.
