Kolossos H Hotels Rodou (GBL) signed 33-year-old American 206cm center Devonte Upson (SE Louisiana) for the upcoming season. Upson, who last played for Karditsas, averaged 9.1ppg and 4.9rpg in 8 GBL games in Greece last season. He also had a stint with Jilin Tigers (CBA) in the Chinese league.
Upson, a very experienced player, has experienced life in fourteen different countries during his time playing on four different continents thanks to pro basketball. He is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American, and North American leagues. Upson has played professionally in Argentina (Comunicaciones), China (Bucks), Estonia (Rapla), Finland (Seagulls), France (SIG Strasbourg), Israel (Hapoel Haifa), Italy (Trieste), Kosovo (Trepca), Mexico (Astros), Poland (Start and Arka), Switzerland (Starwings), Turkey (Buyukcekmece and Merkezefendi), and The Basketball Tournament (Sideline Cancer).
Among many awards, his team was the regular season runner-up in the Mexican LNBP in 2025. He was voted to the Eurobasket.com Baltic League All-Imports Team back in 2018.
Upson graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2015 and it will be his twelfth (!!!) season in pro basketball. He played also for Trinidad State Junior College for one year.
