Bahcesehir keeps Akpinar for another season

Ismet Akpinar

Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul (BSL) re-signed 31-year-old German ex-international 193cm guard Ismet Akpinar for the 2026-27 season. He played there last season, averaging 6.2ppg and 1.2rpg in 36 BSL games and 3.6ppg in 14 Eurocup games. Akpinar helped them reach the semifinals. In the 2024-25 season, he played for another Turkish team, Turk Telekom.
He was also a member of the German international program for some years. Akpinar played for the German Senior National Team between 2017 and 2021 and previously for the Under 20 National Team in 2015.
He has played also in Germany (ALBA Berlin, ratiopharm Ulm, Bayern Muenchen, Rist Wedel and Tigers), Germany (ALBA 2 and Piraten) and Turkey (Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Besiktas).
He was voted to Eurobasket.com German Bundesliga All-Domestic Players Team in 2019.
