Defending champion Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana (Liga OTP banka) confirmed in their roster 26-year old USA ex-international power forward Matt Hurt (206cm-97kg-2000, college: Duke) for new 2026-27 season. He was a team leader there last season. He managed to play in three leagues last year. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 5 Liga OTP banka games he recorded very impressive stats: 16.4ppg, 3.2rpg and 1.4bpg. Hurt helped them to win the league title. He also played 7 games in Eurocup where he averaged 6.9ppg, 3.6rpg, 1.6apg and 1.9bpg. Hurt contributed to his team making it to the quarterfinals. And finally he contributed to 15 games in ABA League where he had 11.1ppg and 3.9rpg. The other team he played shortly was Sportinvest Trapani Sharks (Serie A) in Italian league.
He was also a member of the USA international program for some years. Hurt played for USA Senior National Team two years ago and previously for the Under 18 National Team back in 2018.
He is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in five different countries. Hurt tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Australia and of course North America. He has played professionally in Australia (Phoenix), Italy, NBA (Memphis Grizzlies), NBA G League (Memphis Hustle) and NBA Summer League (Milwaukee Bucks and Memphis Grizzlies).
Among many awards he was voted Australiabasket.com All-Australian NBL Forward of the Year in 2025.
Hurt graduated from Duke University in 2021 and it will be his sixth season as a professional player.
