Keron DeShields

Defending champion Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut (LBL) landed 32-year old American 190cm point guard Keron DeShields (college: Tennessee State, agency: Diamond Sports). DeShields played most recently at Al-Muharraq in Bahrain Premier League. He managed to play in four leagues in three countries last year (!!!). DeShields also played for Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabian SBL where in 11 games he averaged impressive 21.9ppg, 5.0rpg, 7.7apg and 2.0spg. He helped them to win the league title. It was a very successful season in his career as he was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Saudi Arabian SBL Second Team. DeShields also played 13 games in West Asia Super League where he had very remarkable stats: 23.6ppg, 5.9rpg, 7.2apg and 1.7spg. He contributed to his team making it to the group final. DeShields can count that season as a very successful as was selected to Asia-Basket.com All-West Asia Super League Final 8 Second Team. The other team he played shortly was Maccabi Effie Capital Rishon Le-Zion in Israeli National League. In 6 games he recorded high stats: 19.7ppg, 3.5rpg and 7.8apg.
He is a very experienced player. DeShields has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to eight different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Argentina (Comunicaciones), Greece (Rethymno), Hungary (Debreceni Egyetem and Jaszbereny KSE), Italy (Latina and San Severo), Lithuania (Siauliai), Venezuela (Trotamundos and DeShieldsroes), Israel (Ramat Gan, Next Urban Maccabi Haifa, Afula and Hapoel Hevel Modi'in) and Dominican Republic (Metros).
He graduated from Tennessee State in 2016 and it will be his tenth season in pro basketball. He played also for University of Montana for 3 years.
