Defending champion Al Kuwait SC (D1) strengthened their roster with addition of 32-year old American small forward Jamal Jones (203cm-89kg-1993, college: Texas A&M, agency: Slash Sports) for season 2025-26. Jones played last season at Avtodor in Russian VTB United League. In 44 games he recorded 11.4ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.5apg. He helped them to make it to the quarterfinals. In 2014 he was drafted by Delaware 87ers (D-League) in second round (30th overall). Jones graduated from Texas A&M University and it will be his twelfth (!!!) season in pro basketball. He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015. Jones is quite experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America) in seven different countries. He has played previously professionally in Finland (Kobrat), France (Lille), Greece (PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki, Ionikos Nikaias and Promitheas), Italy (Verona and Sassari), Lebanon (Homentmen), Turkey (Bahcesehir) and NBA G League (Delaware Blue Coats). The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Jones' team won FIBA Europe Cup in 2022. Jones was voted to Eurobasket.com All-FIBA Europe Cup Honorable Mention back in 2022. He played for other colleges like: Lee College, The University of Mississippi.
