Niemi comes back to Korihait

Trey Niemi

Korihait Uusikaupunki (Korisliiga) strengthened their roster with the addition of 28-year-old guard Trey Niemi (194cm-1998, agency: BIG) for the 2026-27 season. It is actually his comeback to Uusikaupunki as he has played there before. Niemi played most recently at Seagulls (Korisliiga), where in 47 games he recorded 8.2ppg, 1.8rpg, and 1.7apg last season, helping them reach the semifinals. In the previous (2024-25) season, he played at Sol Girones Bisbal Basquet (Segunda FEB) in the Spanish league, and earlier that season, he played for KTP Basket Kotka.
Niemi is a quite experienced player, having played in Canada (Mamba), Italy (Lumezzane), Spain, and Finland (Vilpas, Nokia, Pyrinto, PuHu Juniorit, and Ura Basket).
Niemi played in the final of the Finnish League in 2022 and was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Finnish League Honorable Mention in 2023.
