Kaohsiung Aquas (TPBL) signed 30-year-old Ukrainian international 198cm small forward Bogdan Bliznyuk (college: EWU). He was the top rebounder at BC Jonava Hipocredit in the Lithuanian LKL league last season, averaging 14.5ppg, 5.4rpg, and 2.2apg in 39 games. Bliznyuk helped his team reach the semifinals, making it a successful season for him. He was voted to the Eurobasket.com All-Lithuanian League All-Bosmans Team, League Player of the Week, and Eurobasket.com All-Lithuanian League First Team.
Bliznyuk also represented Ukraine at the FIBA World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers two years ago. During this event, he scored an average of 10.1 ppg and had 4.9 rpg.
He is a very experienced player. Bliznyuk has played professionally in France (Cholet Basket), Israel (Bnei Hertzeliya), and Ukraine (Budivelnyk and Kyiv Basket).
In addition to making it to the Ukrainian final in 2022, he was selected as the Eurobasket.com All-Ukrainian Superleague Domestic Player of the Year in 2021.
He graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2018 and it'll be his eighth season in pro basketball.
