Defending champion Al Wahda Damascus (SBL) strengthened their roster with the addition of 28-year-old American 188cm guard Unique McLean (college: SFC, agency: Blacktop Management). He started the season at US Monastir in Tunisian ProA. Last season during the summer, he played at Tadamon Hrajel (LBL) in the Lebanese league.
Thanks to McLean's pro career, he has played on three different continents (Europe, Asia, and North America) in eight different countries. He has played professionally in Bahrain (Al-Ahli), Finland, Iraq (Al Shurtah and Al-Difaa), Lebanon, Luxembourg (Sparta), Saudi Arabia (Deba), and Switzerland (Starwings).
In 2024, his college team reached the Iraqi League Cup final. In 2023, he was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Saudi Arabian SBL Honorable Mention.
McLean graduated from St. Francis College (NY) in 2021, marking his fifth season in pro basketball. He also played for the University of Massachusetts for three years.
