BC CSU Sibiu (Liga Nationala) signed 28-year old American power forward Anthony Smith (203cm-102kg-1997, college: Murray State). He was the top rebounder at Red Rose Thunder (The Basketball Tournament) in the U.S. In two TBT games just recently he had 4.0ppg, 4.5rpg, and 1.5apg. Last season he played at KK Podgorica Bemax (Erste Liga) in the Montenegrin league. He also played 12 games in ABA League where he recorded 14.0ppg, 7.8rpg, and 1.6apg.
Smith is a very experienced player. He has played in six different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, and North America). Smith has played professionally in France (C'Chartres), Mexico (Halcones Rojos and Ostioneros de Guaymas), Montenegro, Portugal (Imortal), Serbia (KK Borac Cacak), and Mongolia (Apes).
In 2024, his team reached the Mongolian League Semifinals. He was selected for the Asia-Basket.com Mongolian League All-Imports Team in 2024.
Smith graduated from Murray State in 2020 and it will be his sixth season as a pro player. He also played for Barton County Community College for 2 years.
