Miasto Szkla Krosno (OBL) bolstered their roster by adding 28-year-old American point guard Ben Shungu (188cm-91kg-1997, college: Vermont). He began the season with Legia in the OBL, where he posted 10.7ppg, 2.6rpg, and 2.8apg in 13 games. Shungu also competed in 6 games in the Basketball Champions League, averaging 6.0ppg, 4.2rpg, and 2.7apg.
Shungu is a highly experienced player, having played professionally in Estonia (Kalev/Cramo), Germany (EnBW Ludwigsburg, Duesseldorf, and Lions), Israel (Afula), Turkey (Fenerbahce), and The Basketball Tournament (Green Mountain Men).
Among many awards, he won the Estonian League championship title in 2024. Shungu was also voted the Eurobasket.com All-Estonian League Import Player of the Year in 2024.
He graduated from the University of Vermont in 2022 and is currently in his fourth season as a professional player.
