Harald Frey

Surne Bilbao Basket (Liga Endesa) signed 27-year-old Norwegian international 188cm point guard Harald Frey (college: Montana State) for the upcoming season. He is the second import player on the team, joining Swedish Melwin Pantzar. Frey was the best passer at Telekom Baskets Bonn in the German BBL league, where he averaged 11.1ppg, 1.5rpg, 5.0apg, and 1.2spg in 31 games last season. He also played 14 games in the Basketball Champions League, contributing 8.1ppg, 1.9rpg, and 5.1apg to help his team reach the quarterfinals. In the previous season (2022-23), Frey played for BG Goettingen in the BBL, where he played 37 games and averaged 13.9ppg, 2.4rpg, and 4.4apg.
He has also been a member of the Norwegian international program for some years. Frey has regularly played for the Norwegian senior team since 2018 and previously for the University National Team in 2019.
He also represented Norway at the World University Games in Napoli (Italy) five years ago. During this event, he scored an average of 14 ppg and had 4.5 rpg.
Frey has played ppg for Spanish team Oviedo.
In 2023, his college team made it to the FIBA International Cup final. He was voted to Eurobasket.com All-German Bundesliga Honorable Mention in 2023.
Frey graduated from Montana State in 2020, and it'll be his fifth season in pro basketball.
