Newly promoted CSM Targu Jiu (Liga Nationala) signed 29-year-old American 188cm guard Marcus Evans (college: VCU, agency: Olsta). He last played for Jedinstvo in Montenegrin Erste Liga, averaging 12.5ppg, 2.9rpg, 1.9apg, and 1.8spg in 8 games last season. Evans also played for KK Teodo Tivat in Erste Liga and 6 games in ABA League, where he averaged 8.5ppg, 1.8rpg, 1.8apg, and 1.2spg.
He is a very experienced player, thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in four different countries playing on three different continents. Evans is familiar with European, Latin American, and of course North American leagues. He has played professionally in Mexico (Pioneros Los Mochis), Sweden (BC Lulea), and the United Kingdom (Cheshire Phoenix and Flyers).
In 2023, Evans played in the final of the British BBL Trophy. He was voted the All-C-USA Freshman of the Year in 2016.
He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2020 and it'll be his sixth season in pro basketball. Evans played also for Rice University for 2 years.
