Roberts Stumbris is a newcomer at Estudiantes

Movistar Estudiantes Madrid (Primera FEB) strengthened their roster with the addition of 32-year-old Latvian ex-international small forward Roberts Stumbris (200cm-97kg-1993). He started the season at Melilla Ciudad del Deporte. In 11 Primera FEB games in Spain, he recorded 7.1ppg, 2.8rpg, and 1.2apg. Last season, he played for another Spanish team, Burgos.
He was also a member of the Latvian international program for some years. Stumbris played for Latvian Senior National Team in 2022 and previously for the Under 20 National Team back in 2013.
Three years ago, Stumbris represented Latvia at the FIBA World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers. His team won Silver, and he averaged almost 4 points per game.
Stumbris is quite an experienced player. He has played in Estonia (Tarvas), Holland, Iceland (KR Reykjavik), Italy (Trieste, Trapani, and Brescia), Latvia (Jurmala, Saldus, VEF Riga, and Jekabpils), Lithuania (Nevezis), and Poland (GTK and HydroTruck).
Among many awards, his team won the Dutch Cup in 2024. Stumbris was voted to the Eurobasket.com All-Latvian League Honorable Mention back in 2017.
