Newly promoted Old Wild West Udine (Serie A) signed 27-year-old Latvian international 193cm point guard Kristers Zoriks (college: SMC). He began the season at Hiopos Forca Lleida in Spanish Liga Endesa, averaging 4.2ppg and 1.6apg in 14 games. Last season, he played at Le Portel (ProB) in the French league, competing in three different competitions. In French Betclic ELITE ProA, he posted 11.1ppg, 1.9rpg, and 3.5apg in 30 games. Zoriks also played 12 games in FIBA Europe Cup, averaging 11.2ppg, 2.3rpg, and 3.4apg.
He has also been a member of the Latvian international program for some years. Zoriks has regularly played for the Latvian senior team since 2020 and previously for the Under 20 National Team in 2018.
He also represented Latvia at the FIBA Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament in Riga (Latvia) two years ago. During this event, he scored an average of 7.7 points per game and had 1.7 rebounds per game.
Zoriks is a very experienced player, having played professionally in France, Turkey (Petkimspor), and Latvia (VEF Riga).
Among many awards, he won the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League championship title in 2022. Zoriks was also named to the Eurobasket.com Latvian-Estonian Basketball League All-Tournament Team in 2023.
He graduated from Saint Mary's College of California in 2020 and is currently in his sixth season in pro basketball.
