Newly promoted Old Wild West Udine (Serie A) is close to signing 27-year-old Latvian international 193cm point guard Kristers Zoriks (college: SMC) who currently plays at Hiopos Forca Lleida in Spain. In 14 Liga Endesa games, he recorded 4.2ppg and 1.6apg this season. Last season, he played at Le Portel (ProB) in the French league. The team competed in three different competitions that year, giving him the opportunity to experience basketball at various levels. Zoriks played 30 games in the French Betclic ELITE ProA, averaging 11.1ppg, 1.9rpg, and 3.5apg. He also participated in 12 games in the FIBA Europe Cup, where he posted 11.2ppg, 2.3rpg, and 3.4apg.
Zoriks has been a member of the Latvian international program for some years. He has regularly played for the Latvian senior team since 2020 and previously for the Under 20 National Team in 2018.
Zoriks also represented Latvia at the FIBA Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament in Riga (Latvia) two years ago. During this event he scored an average of 7.7 ppg and had 1.7 rpg.
He is a very experienced player. Zoriks has played professionally in France, Turkey (Petkimspor), and Latvia (VEF Riga).
He won the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League championship title in 2022. He was also named to the Eurobasket.com Latvian-Estonian Basketball League All-Tournament Team in 2023.
Zoriks graduated from Saint Mary's College of California in 2020 and it's his 6th season in pro basketball.
