Homs Al Fidaa (SBL) signed 28-year-old American (who also holds a Palestinian passport) 196cm guard Brian Halums (college: UAFS, agency: The Crew A.M.). This marks his return to Homs, where he previously played. Halums joins from Al Faisaly in the Jordanian Premier League, where he had an impressive season averaging 25.0ppg, 9.9rpg, 4.9apg, 2.4spg, and 1.4bpg in 21 games. He was named League Player of the Week six times. Halums has also played for CS Antonine in the Lebanese league and briefly for Homs Al Fidaa. He has been a regular member of the Palestinian Senior National Team since 2024.
Halums is a very experienced player, having played professionally in seven different countries on three different continents thanks to pro basketball. He is familiar with Asian, African, and North American leagues. Halums has played in Bahrain (Al-Hala), Iraq (Al-Hashd), Lebanon (Beirut Club and Nadim Souaid Academy), Qatar (Qatar Club and Al Gharafa), Saudi Arabia (Al Ahli, Ohod, Al Wehda, and Al Fateh), and Libya (Al Nasr).
In addition to these achievements, he was named the Asia-Basket.com All-Iraqi League Guard of the Year in 2025. His team reached the Qatari League Semifinals in 2023.
Halums graduated from the University of Arkansas Fort Smith in 2020 and is currently in his sixth season in pro basketball. He has also played for other colleges such as The University of Mississippi and Itawamba Community College.
