Newly promoted Kalleh Mazandaran Amol (Superleague) inked experienced 35-year old American 191cm point guard Dwight Buycks (college: Marquette) for upcoming season. Buycks played most recently at Zob Ahan. In 24 Superleague games in Iran he averaged impressive 19.2ppg, 3.9rpg, 4.5apg (top 5) and 1.4spg last season. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. They also advanced to the league semifinals. A very good season in his career as he was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Iranian Superleague Third Team.
In 2011 Tulsa 66ers selected him as fifth overall pick in D-League draft.
The former Marquette University star is in his 14th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
Buycks has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015.
He is a very experienced player. Buycks has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to twelve different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Belgium, China (Sturgeons and Leopards), France (Gravelines Dunkerque and JSF Nanterre), Greece (Olympiacos), Puerto Rico (Criollos, Mets and Indios), Qatar (Al Shamal), Spain, Venezuela (Trotamundos), NBA (Detroit Pistons, OKC Thunder and Toronto Raptors), NBA G League (OKC Blue, NAZ Suns and Grand Rapids Gold) and The Basketball Tournament (Boeheim's Army and Golden Eagles).
Among many awards he won The Basketball Tournament championship title in 2020. Buycks was voted to Asia-Basket.com Iranian Superleague All-Imports Team in 2022. He played also for Indian Hills Community College for 2 years.
