Grindavik keeps Kane for another season

DeAndre Kane

Defending champion U.M.F. Grindavik (Subway League) re-signed experienced 37-year old Hungarian-American ex-international 195cm swingman DeAndre Kane (college: Iowa State) for the upcoming season. He was a team leader there last season. In 28 Subway League games, he recorded very impressive stats: 18.1ppg, 7.5rpg, 4.4apg, and 1.5spg. He helped them to win the league title. Great season indeed as he was awarded Eurobasket.com All-Icelandic League Bosman Player of the Year and voted to All-Bosmans Team and selected to All-Defensive Team. Kane also played for another Icelandic team U.M.F. Grindavik earlier that season.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015.
Kane, a very experienced player, has played professionally in Belgium, Germany, Greece, Israel, Russia, Serbia, Spain, and The Basketball Tournament. He is close to retirement age and may end his career at Grindavik.
He graduated from Iowa State in 2014 and this will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) season in pro basketball. He also played for Marshall University for 3 years.
