Defending champion Bakken Bears Aarhus (BasketLigaen) have signed 28-year-old Dutch 203cm center Shaquille Rombley (college: LMU, agency: Slash Sports) for the upcoming season. He is the second import player on the roster, with USA's Duke Deen having signed earlier. Rombley was the top rebounder at Stjarnan in the Icelandic Subway League last season, averaging 12.2ppg, 8.3rpg, 1.1apg, and 1.7bpg in 36 games. Despite finishing the regular season in second place, he helped Stjarnan win the league title. Rombley had a successful year, being voted League Player of the Week and selected to the Eurobasket.com All-Icelandic League Second Team. In the previous (2023-24) season, he played for Gunners Oberwart (BSL) in the Austrian league.
He has also played professionally in Austria and Germany (Eagles and Telekom Baskets Bonn 2nd team).
He was voted to Eurobasket.com German 2.Bundesliga Pro B All-Defensive Team in 2023 among many awards.
Rombley graduated from Lincoln Memorial University in 2021 and it will be his fifth season in pro basketball. He played also for Indian River State College for 2 years.
