CSM CSU Oradea (Liga Nationala) signed 27-year-old Dutch international 203cm power forward Emmanuel Nzekwesi (college: ORU) for the upcoming season. He was the top scorer at Slask in the Polish OBL league last season, averaging 13.9ppg, 6.7rpg, and 1.3apg in 20 games. Nzekwesi also played 2 games in the Basketball Champions League, where he posted 13.0ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.5apg, 1.5spg, and 1.5bpg. He briefly played for Hapoel Gilboa Galil (Winner League) in the Israeli league.
Nzekwesi has also been a member of the Dutch international program for some years. He has regularly played for the Dutch senior team since 2020 and previously for the Under 20 National Team in 2017.
Nzekwesi also represented Holland at the FIBA World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers two years ago. During this event, he scored an average of 14.3 ppg and had 5.8 rpg.
He is a very experienced player. Nzekwesi has played professionally in Belgium (Belfius Mons Hainaut), France (Cholet Basket and Le Portel), Israel, Holland (ZZ Leiden), and the NBA Summer League (Phoenix Suns).
In 2022, his team reached the Belgian League Semifinals. He was voted Eurobasket.com All-BNXT League Forward of the Year in 2022.
Nzekwesi graduated from Oral Roberts University in 2020 and it'll be his sixth season in pro basketball.
