Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz (Liga Endesa) added to their roster 28-year old Guinean international forward Mamadi Diakite (206cm-103kg-1997, college: Virginia) for new 2025-26 season. Diakite played last season at Valley Suns (NBA G League) in the U.S. In 44 NBA-G-League games he had 13.6ppg, 8.2rpg, 2.2apg and 1.3bpg. He also spent pre-season at the Suns in NBA. Diakite was also tried-out by the Grizzlies in NBA. He was called to Guinean Senior National Team this year.
Diakite is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in other USA teams, NBA (Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks, NY Knicks, San Antonio Spurs and OKC Thunder), NBA G League (Austin Spurs, Cleveland Charge, Westchester Knicks and Osceola Magic) and NBA Summer League (Milwaukee Bucks).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he won NBA championship title in 2021. Diakite was voted to USBasket.com NBA G League All-Defensive Team back in 2021.
He graduated from University of Virginia in 2020 and it will be his sixth season as a professional player.
