Giannaras re-signs at AEK Larnaca

Petrolina AEK Larnaca (ECOMMBX BL) confirmed in their roster 27-year old Cypriot-Greek international guard Ioannis Giannaras (187cm-1999) for the upcoming 2026-27 season. He has played there for the last two seasons. Giannaras managed to play in three leagues last year. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 32 ECOMMBX BL games, he recorded 6.1ppg and 1.9apg. Giannaras helped them to win the league title and the Supercup. The 2025-26 season was great as he was named to the Cypriot League All-Star Game. He also played 5 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he averaged 5.8ppg and 1.2rpg. Finally, he recorded 1 game in Basketball Champions League where he got 3 points, 1 rebound, and 1 steal.
Giannaras has been a member of the Cypriot international program for some years. He has regularly played for the Cypriot senior team since 2019 and previously for the University National Team in 2018.
Giannaras has played also in Greece (Trikala and PAOK Thesasloniki U18 team), Cyprus (APOEL Nicosia and Keravnos), and Greece.
