University of North Carolina has agreed terms with 21-year-old Greek international power forward Alexandros Samodurov (6'11''-2005, agency: Octagon Europe) for the upcoming 2026-27 season. He has played for the last three years at Panathinaikos in the Greek GBL league. In 21 games, he had 3.6ppg and 2.1rpg last season, helping them win the cup. Samodurov also played 13 games in the Euroleague, where he recorded just 2.6ppg.
He has also been a member of the Greek international program for several years. Samodurov has consistently played for the Greek senior team since 2022 and for the U22 National Team in the previous year.
He represented Greece at the FIBA U18 European Championship in Nis (Serbia) three years ago. During this event, he scored an average of 13.1 points per game and had 6.7 rebounds per game.
Samodurov has played also in Serbia (Next Generation Select Team), Greece (Panerythraikos, DEKA and NGT Patras) and Serbia.
He was named to the Adidas Next Generation Tournament All-Tournament Team in Munich back in 2023.
