Ben Bentil

Mersin Buyuksehir Belediyesi Spor Mersin (BSL) added to their roster 30-year old American (has also Ghanian passport) power forward Ben Bentil (206cm-110kg-1995, college: Providence) for new 2025-26 season. Bentil played last season at LDLC ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket in French Betclic ELITE ProA. He managed to play in four leagues in three countries last year (!!!). In 8 Betclic ELITE ProA games he recorded 5.4ppg and 2.0rpg. Bentil helped them to win the regular season and make it to the semifinals. He also played 9 games in Euroleague where he averaged 4.4ppg and 2.3rpg. The other team he played that season for was Gevi Napoli Basket in Italian Serie A. In 11 games he had 14.9ppg, 6.3rpg and 1.3apg. Another team he played shortly was Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israeli league. In two Eurocup games he got 4.5ppg, 1.0rpg and 1.0apg.
In 2016 he was drafted by Boston Celtics (NBA) in second round (51st overall). Bentil graduated from Providence College and it will be his tenth season in pro basketball.
He is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in ten different countries. Bentil tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in China (Flying Tigers), Greece (Peristeri and Panathinaikos), Japan (Thunders), Serbia (Crvena zvezda), Spain (Surne Bilbao), Italy (Armani Milano), NBA (Dallas Mavericks and Indiana Pacers), NBA G League (Indiana Mad Ants) and Turkey (Bahcesehir).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Greek A1 Honorable Mention back in 2021.
