Panionios Cosmorama Travel Athens (GBL) added to their roster 32-year old Georgian-American ex-international guard Joe Thomasson (193cm-75kg-1993, college: Wright State, agency: Octagon Europe). He started the season at Tofas in Turkish BSL league. In 12 games he recorded 5.5ppg, 2.8rpg and 2.3apg. He also played 5 games in Basketball Champions League where he averaged 5.6ppg, 1.4rpg and 2.0apg. The last season he played at Gran Canaria (Liga Endesa) in Spanish league.
In 2016, he was drafted by the Maine Red Claws (D-League) in the second round (42nd overall).
Thomasson graduated from Wright State and it's his 10th season in pro basketball.
He also represented Georgia at the FIBA Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament in Riga (Latvia) two years ago. During this event, he scored an average of 9 ppg and had 1 rpg.
Thomasson is a very experienced player. He has played professionally in Israel (Hapoel Gilboa Galil and Maccabi Tel Aviv), Poland (Zastal, Start and Kociewskie Diably), Romania, Russia (Burevestnik and Zenit), Spain (BAXI Manresa and Coviran Granada), Turkey, Greece (Promitheas), NBA G League (College Park SkyHawks and Maine Celtics) and The Basketball Tournament (Red Scare).
Thomasson's team reached the Cup (Copa del Rey) Semifinals in 2025. He was voted to Eurobasket.com Spanish League All-Imports Team in 2022. He also played for State Fair Community College for one year.
