PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki (GBL) signed 31-year-old American 191cm shooting guard Marcus Foster (college: Creighton) for the upcoming season. He last played at Alvark Tokyo in the Japanese B1 League, where he put up impressive stats of 15.7ppg, 3.0rpg, and 3.2apg in 61 games last season, helping them win the cup. Foster was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Japanese League Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week. He also played 7 games in the East Asia Super League, averaging 19.3ppg, 2.9rpg, and 4.1apg, contributing to his team's semifinal appearance. Foster had a successful season, being selected to Asia-Basket.com East Asia Super League All-Imports Team and First Team. In the previous (2024-25) season, he played for Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Israeli league.
Foster is a very experienced player. He has traveled quite extensively during his pro career, playing in twelve different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia, and North America). Foster has played professionally in China (Heroes), Israel (Hapoel Holon), Japan, Lebanon (Maristes), Lithuania (Rytas), Turkey (Turk Telekom), NBA (Houston Rockets), Greece (Panathinaikos and Promitheas), South Korea (Wonju DB), NBA G League (Rio Grande Valley Vipers), The Basketball Tournament (Purple & Black and Omaha BC), and NBA Summer League (Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets).
He won the Lithuanian League championship title in 2024. He was voted to the Eurobasket.com Lithuanian LKL All-Imports Team in 2024.
He graduated from Creighton University in 2018 and it will be his ninth season in pro basketball. Foster played also for University of Kansas State for 2 years.
