Bertram Yachts Derthona Tortona (Serie A) added 23-year-old Estonian international small forward Joonas Riismaa (195cm-2002) to their roster. He was close to signing with Livorno Libertas (Serie A2). Last season, he played for another Italian team, Acqua S.Bernardo Cantu (also in Serie A2), where he averaged 4.8ppg and 2.7rpg in 49 games. Riismaa contributed to their Serie A2 title and cup win.
Riismaa has been a member of the Estonian international program for several years. He has played for the Estonian senior team since 2021 and previously for the Under 20 National Team in 2022.
Riismaa also represented Estonia at the FIBA World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers two years ago. Riismaa's team won Bronze and he had an average of almost 6 points per game.
He has played previously for four other teams: Mens Sana, Brindisi, Montale, and Mens Sana.
