Michel-Ofik Nzege

San Antonio Gold (Liga Basquet Pro) signed 32-year-old Swiss international 203cm forward Michel-Ofik Nzege (college: ECU). He transferred from Fribourg Olympic in the Swiss SBL league. In 6 games, he averaged 5.5ppg and 1.8rpg last season. He also played 2 games in FIBA Europe Cup, averaging 7.0ppg and 4.5rpg. Last summer, he played for Toros de Aragua (SPB) in the Venezuelan league.
Nzege has also been a member of the Swiss international program for some years. He has regularly played for the Swiss senior team since 2017 and previously for the Under 20 National Team in 2012.
Nzege also represented Switzerland at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Pre-Qualifiers four years ago. During this event he scored an average of 6.5 ppg and had 2.5 rpg.
He is a very experienced player. Nzege has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to eight different countries on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally also in Belgium (Okapi Aalst), France (Aix Maurienne, Saint Chamond and Souffel), Greece (Kolossos H Hotels Rodou), Slovakia (Spisski Rytieri), Spain (La Roda), United Kingdom and Venezuela.
Nzege's team won the Swiss Cup in 2021. He was voted to the Eurobasket.com Swiss SBL All-Defensive Team in 2021.
He graduated from East Carolina University in 2017 and it's his eighth season in pro basketball. Nzege played also for Winston Salem State University for one year.
