Hsinchu Lioneers (TPBL) signed Marin Maric, a 32-year-old Croatian center who stands at 211cm tall. Maric, who played college basketball at DePaul and is represented by BIG agency, previously played for Shenzhen Leopards in the Chinese CBA league. During his time with Shenzhen Leopards, he averaged 5.1ppg and 2.4rpg in 22 games.
Three years ago, he represented Croatia at the FIBA World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers. During the tournament, his team made it to the Semifinals, and he averaged 5 points per game.
Maric is a very experienced player. He has traveled extensively during his pro career, playing in nine different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia, and North America). Maric has played professionally in Belgium (Okapi Aalst and Oostende), China (Blue Whales and Hunan), Greece (Larissa BC), Israel (Ironi Nes Ziona), Lebanon, Lithuania (Lietkabelis), Spain (MoraBanc Andorra), Turkey, and Croatia (Split).
Among many awards, he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Spanish Liga Endesa Honorable Mention in 2024.
He graduated from De Paul University in 2018 and is currently in his eighth season in pro basketball. Maric also played for Northern Illinois University for 4 years.
